About the Role.

Product Madness is looking for a Creative Director to oversee, inspire and lead the entire creative department in the London office and its satellite operations. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing several creative teams, each dedicated to a specific project.  You will directly oversee several Art Directors each of which oversees a team of 3-6 artists ranging from junior to senior and of varying roles including UI, 3D, illustrators, technical artists, Marketing artists and more. You will report directly to the MD.

On a tactical level, you will be responsible for the day to day operation of the entire art department. You will need to communicate and coordinate with your team leads as well as your counterparts in the Product and Dev departments. You will need to know how to inspire creativity, mediate discussions, solve problems, provide marching orders and extract the most of each member of your team.

On a strategic level, you will need to ensure the continued growth and success of the Art Department specifically and Product Madness as a whole. Lobbying for, and implementing, department wide initiatives which will benefit the team and the company. These can include pivoting on tech stacks, bringing in specific talent and skills sets, lobbying for conferences, training initiatives and more. You will be responsible for the staffing of the Art department as well as the departmental structure, budgeting and career progression planning.

Your skill set and experience will enable you to roll up your sleeves and step in when required to provide guidance, assistance or extra bandwidth on any number of projects or tasks.

You will work closely with key people from different departments across Product Madness & Aristocrat. Managing sideways as well as upwards. Constantly pushing the creative capabilities of Product Madness and championing art and usability to departments and people beyond your immediate jurisdiction.    

A successful candidate should have:

  • Proven industry leading experience on multiple released mobile titles. Extensive experience and demonstrably exceptional portfolio as a Creative Director.
  • Strong commercial experience and demonstrably exceptional portfolio as an Artist. Experience in managing several teams across multiple products.  
  • Experience in managing teams across multiple locations.
  • Experience in all areas of the product life cycle including pre-production, development, live operations, marketing, UA and more.  
  • Exceptional project planning capabilities. Exceptional communication skills both verbal and visual.  
  • Ability to eloquently and passionately present to large teams. Ability to build trust and work closely with key stakeholders to come to agreements.
  • Strong technical understanding of game development which included various engines, tools, source control and more. Experience working closely with Heads of Development, Marketing and Product.
  • Must be eligible to work in the UK
  • Native level English.
