Mobile QA Manager

Responsibilities:

 

Reporting to the Head of QA, manage both the internal and external mobile QA efforts, spanning multiple in house projects

Aid in the recruitment of vacant mobile QA positions and assist in the training, mentoring and development of the team through KPOs and 121’s

Constantly maintain, review and improve process to drive for efficiency

Liaise on a regular basis with our offshore QA team, and ensure priorities are clearly documented in daily reports from your respective onsite leads / seniors  

Track and manage quarterly snapshots of the market (DAUs) and reflect these findings in the matrices defined for each project, keeping them relevant to the market

Support in the storage and management of the offices supply of devices

Attend regular standups & Triages, driving the communication of the QA efforts and staying present with each applications stage of development and roadmap, planning accordingly  

Ensure releases are always to the highest standard, both for defect mitigation & user experience

Hands on testing to support the QA efforts and ensure the utmost quality, leading by example

Manage the bug databases and prioritise accordingly through discussion and agreement with the Product teams

Support in the creation & maintenance of detailed, comprehensive test suites and test cases

Provide reports and risk assessments to the Head of QA and other stakeholders

Strong time management, accountability and organisational skills

Energetic, enthusiastic & self motivated, with the ability to retain said qualities in a high pressure environment

Flexible to an agile setup with the ability to multitask, managing coverage for multiple high profile mobile projects with strict deadlines

A strong commercial awareness with an understanding of business priorities & goals

A willingness to travel to our offshore team (avg 5 days a year)

 

Essential Requirements:

 

3+ years managing and / or leading a team of mobile testers, preferably spanning multiple projects

Detailed reporting skills (Coverage / RAG / Analysis)

Experience managing / leading both internal and offshore QA teams

A solid understanding of submission guidelines and workflows for mobile applications (Apple / GooglePlay / Amazon)

Extensive knowledge of JIRA and / or similar bug tracking tools

Superb bug tracking skills and analytical attitude towards work

Expertise in the creation & maintenance of detailed, comprehensive test suites and test cases

Proven experience with Charles Debugging Proxy

Proven experience with New Relic and / or other monitoring tools

An exceptional grasp on the Software Development life cycle from conception through to completion

An understanding of Back Office and Server QA and how these fit in with Client QA

Experience with 3rd Party backend tools such as Appsflyer

Knowledge of Data Science, and how to use this to better processes

Extensive knowledge of the current mobile market, featuring all platforms

A proven track record working with Customer Services

 

Desirable Requirements:

 

Exposure to the social Slot machine market

Experience working with Unity

ISTQB / ISEB certified

Familiar with Testrail as a suite management tool

An understanding of Redash queries

Experience working with studios in different time zones

A computing,  games, or related subject degree

Exposure to hands on client automation
