Software Developer in Test

The Role

Reporting into the Technical Test Manager, you will be responsible for providing early feedback of shared features and 3rd Party Plugins prior to them being consumed by the various game teams within the business. Working closely with the Core Tech team, you will build on the unit tests generated by the developers and devise and implement integration / behaviour tests, often without the comfort of a user interface, instead using logs and other non UI based test strategies.

You will coordinate with the Game teams and highlight known areas of risk prior to adoption, whilst continuously building on Core Techs test strategy at both a manual and automation layer to better processes and quality within the team and the companies development lifecycle.

Skills and Requirements

  • Strong C# and good engineering practices / code architecture.
  • Ideally some experience with Unity and the ability to generate your own test scenes or happy to learn.
  • Experience in log capture through the use of ADB / XCode
  • Familiar with Build Systems (Jenkins / Bamboo)
  • Knowledge of Cucumber / Gherkin / Appium / Selenium with a background of working towards automated QA solutions to improve test efficiency
  • Familiar understanding and background with Unity TestRunner
  • Experience with New Relic and / or other monitoring tools
  • SQL knowledge
  • Knowledge with Gradle
  • Knowledge with Swagger
  • Experience with tracking tools, e.g. Jira, as well as Test Suite Management tools e.g. Testrail
  • Lead triage's and provide daily reports on milestone progression and priorities
  • Drive the creation, maintenance, and implementation of dedicated test sessions, test suites and associated test cases
  • Good knowledge in Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Software Test Life Cycle (STLC)
  • Work closely with Customer Support to investigate, document and where necessary push for swift resolution of Live issues
